The Rainforest Healing Center is located on the highway connecting Iquitos and Nauta in the Loreto province of Peru. They offer 8-day or 11-day Ayahuasca retreats to support the healing traditions and sacred teachings of Amazonian plant wisdom.
As part of their rich traditions, a shaman or curandero performs a smudging ceremony to help everyone cleanse their spirits and belongings of any attached energies when they arrive at the center. A centuries-old shamanic practice uses Palo Santo, an aromatic wood used for purification rituals. At the Rainforest Healing Center, they work with powerful shamans and curanderos.
During the stay, visitors are immersed in the scenic jungles of the Amazon. A comfortable, relaxing environment can be found in all retreat center spaces. Accommodation is in shared rooms, known as tambos. Writing desks and hammocks are provided in the tambas for reflection and relaxation.
A balanced diet will be provided to guests three times a day. Dinner is not served on ceremony days, but guests participating in the ceremony can enjoy breakfast and lunch. They do not serve pork, salt, coffee, or sugar in the retreat. People who follow strict diets, such as those with food allergies, vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-free, will receive food accordingly. The Rainforest Healing Center is also a technology-free zone, meaning there is no working internet connection.
